For his 83rd birthday all Great-Grandpa Jack wanted to do was snowmobile up Monte Cristo. A bunch of us got together and that is just what we did. We rode, sled down the hill, and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. It was a beautiful day play outside. We sure are lucky to have such a fun-loving grandpa to teach us to enjoy being outside.

Riding Chief is fun to do

While playing outside, JD suddenly wanted to ride Chief all his big self in his own saddle, and that is just what we did. It was a happy moment for both of us.

Chore Time

Sometimes we have sick calves on the farm that we have to give medicine to as well. JD is carrying the doctor bag while dad is carrying the bottle.

This year we are lucky enough to have a calf to feed. Grandpa Keetch named him Andy. JD takes this job seriously. It is his chore and he enjoys doing it. We have a whistle that JD blows all the way to the barn so the calf is training to come to a whistle.

New family picture. I love it when JD wraps us both up tight in a family hug like this. (So do the ladies at church. :))
Last Friday we watched a new baby calf be born, rode horses, and went night skiing. It was an adventure filled weekend. Pictures will be coming, but since I forgot my camera skiing I am waiting on my sis to e-mail them.

Raphie the Camel

Guess who showed up in our neighborhood? Ralphie the Camel came to visit the area for a local parade. We spent over an hour getting to know him. JD loved petting him, but did not like sitting between the humps.
